More Information

E.W. Marland's Italian Renaissance Mansion, the "Palace on the Prairie," was modeled after the Davanzati Palace in Florence, Italy. A National Historic Landmark, the 55-room "Palace on the Prairie" was built in the 20's at a cost of $5.5 million.  It features elegant gold-leaf vaulted ceilings, Waterford crystal chandeliers, hand-carved stone and wood mantels and stately grounds. A gift shop is located in the Mansion.

Several other buildings are located on the 30-acre estate, including the Bryant Baker Gallery, Marland Oil Museum, and Lydie's Cottage.
