Genealogy Research

The Genealogy Collection contains almost 6,000 genealogy books. It includes "how to" books, Indian Rolls of the Five Civilized Tribes, the Virgil White indices of the Revolutionary War Pension Records, Revolutionary War Service Records, War of 1812 Pension records and Mexican War pension records.


The collection also contains approximately 5,000 microfilm reels including 1900 Census and Soundex of Oklahoma Territory and Indian Territory and 1910 and 1920 Census and Soundex of Oklahoma.

Ancestry.com is available in our the Computer Center. There is no charge to library card holders or those with proof of Ponca City residence. In other to service the community fairly all are limited to two hours a day. Non-residents must pay a small one dollar fee.
Call the Library for an appointment. Ask for the Computer Center.
