Lake Ponca Park Picnic Pavillions

Lake Ponca Park is located a half block East of Pauline’s Restaurant, on L. A. Cann (the main road coming into the Lake Ponca Recreation Area).

This area features play areas for youngsters, duck ponds and covered shelter house suitable for large group gatherings. A restroom is located on site.

The covered picnic shelters are equipped with wood burning fire places, electrical outlets, lights, stationary tables and benches. Water and a large charcoaler are located close to each shelter.

Reservations are required for use of the picnic shelters and may be made up to one year in advance.

Usage Guidelines

The park is subject to any Governor ordered “ban on burning”. Firewood is subject to availability.

3.2 beer is allowed in cans (NO GLASS) for those of legal age.

Glass bottles and containers are not allowed in the park area.

Reservation Information

Picnic shelters are reserved in two blocks of time:

8:00 a.m.—2:00 p.m.


4:00 p.m.—10:00 p.m.

Please have your receipt with you.

Reservation fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Reservation must be paid within 5 working days of initial request in order to confirm your reservation.

Please have respect for fellow users in other shelter houses, as they have paid for reservations also.

Please leave the shelter and surrounding area at least as clean as you found it.

The park is closed from

November 1 through January 31

for the annual holiday light displays.

You may arrive up to 20 minutes prior to the beginning of your reservation and must leave promptly at the end of the scheduled reservation.

Center tables are not to be removed from the shelter house or rearranged at any time.

The Lake Ponca park Duck Ponds are designated as Youth Fishing Ponds. Fishing is restricted to children age 15 and under.


From 14th Street turn East on Lake Road. At Kygar Road turn north. Go to L. A. Cann Drive and turn east. Follow L. A. Cann Drive to Lake Ponca Park, turn west into the park.
